Cockpit ergonomics ... the F-18 sets the standard here ... are
still clearly behind (albeit not nearly as crude as early Mig series).

Remember that MiG 21 series with every bit of the forward few obstructed by
some sort of primative HUD? I looked at that from a dozen angles, wondering,
how the hell do you land a delta-winged jet without being able to see the
runway??
