Guenther Eichhorn's Soaring Server [http://acro.harvard.edu] has gone
away after more than a decade of service. The fact that we rely so
heavily on this service led us a couple of years ago to establish a
mirror site in New Zealand, thanks to Philip Plane
[ http://soaring.xinqu.net/ ] so there should be no interruption in
service. But with only one Soaring Server, we would be vulnerable to
an outage again, and Glen Holden, from Ft. Mills, SC, kindly volunteered to
provide an additional site [ http://soaring.gahsys.com/ ] which is
now also in service.

Even before acro had gone away, Guenther Eichhorn acquired another
server to run out of his home [ http://soaring.aerobatics.ws/ ], and
it will remain the "primary" site. All three sites will be
synchronized every night, so you should get identical data from any of
them. Only "aerobatics" should be listed in the various search
engines, so we don't clog things with listings in triplicate.

Links to the old acro.harvard.edu server should be redirected to
soaring.aerobatics.ws, so things "should" be transparent to everyone,
but if you have links in documents you should change them, and you
should bookmark all three of the Soaring Servers.

There are very likely to be some goblins lurking in the new sites - legacy
from
acro - and we will weed them out as they come to our attention - that is,
please don't hesitate to send along any and all suggestions.
