Subject: Some IFR GPS's no longer useable

I just heard about this from AOPA's site:

http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/newsite...070524gps.html

I haven't read the AC yet, but it looks like a lot of GPS's that are
out there aren't usable in lieu of ADF/DME or for RNAV use.

Also, as I'm still somewhat new to IFR GPS'es, what is the difference
for the naming of an approach RNAV or GPS (and some say RNAV (GPS)?
Is RNAV replacing GPS approaches?

Been discussed over on r.a.o and I hear on r.a.p. also.
