Default Need to move a glider from Chicago to Los Angeles

Hi guys.

I just acquired myself a glider and I need to move it cross country from Chicago to LA. Trailer is road worthy, but my car is in LA. Any tips on what would be the best way to get it across? So far, the best option I found, is to ship my car to Chicago and pick it up over there and do the trek myself. If anyone has any suggestions that would make it less complicated I'm all ears.

In addition to the other options already expressed, you could fly to Chicago and rent an SUV or truck capable of towing and drive it back. Personally, I would drive to Chicago and tow the trailer back myself. I did that a couple of years ago when I bought a travel trailer in Tennessee and looked at getting it delivered to the Phoenix area (I am in Washington). The cost was pretty high (north of $2.50 a mile, as I recall) because they had to deadhead (no load) back.
