Depends on where you buy your gas. My local airport sells 10 gallons
for $31.50 which is quite a bit less than the $45 membership for CPA,
but your point is well taken. It just seems a waste to join a brand
organization when you don't even own an airplane. And I'd hate to

have
to join every other association just to compare a few different

airplane
models.

Seriously though, albeit I don't own a Cessna I do fly them a lot. I've
gotten a lot of good info from both CPA and COA that is directly
applicable to my needs. The ability to contact them for technical
information for $45 a year is still a lot cheaper than most "help desks"
-- and they comprehend my question without having to follow some script.

I would recommend a "brand organization" rather than a "type club"
because they tend to cover an entire manufacturer's line -- in case you
occasionally fly different models. For example, there will be
information about the 310 and the 140 in the same weekly tech update.
