Anyone know of any "credible" operators in the Boston area who sell
rides in a historic biplane like a Waco or Stearman? Old Rhinebeck
is probably too far to go. Looking to buy an hour or so of time as a
gift for my cousin's son.
Hampton Airfield 7B3 is 50 miles north of Boston and offers "scenic
rides" of the seacoast in a New Standard biplane. This plane is on the
flight line every day during July and August.
They also have some sort of arrangement for dual training in a
Stearman. I think it's $175 an hour. (No solo!) Give them a call. The
airport manager is George Forrest, five days a week. On weekends
you'll talk to the airport owner or his wife.
