Thank you for the quick response!

Just as I suspected!

I knew my position was correct as I was only meters from my original
track on the return trip but I was unsure if the maps were notorious
for being inaccurate.

Nothing against a great company like Garmin, but in my personal
opinion, the 196 is not worth a pinch of Coon @#%@ as a Multi-Purpose
unit and is going right back where it came from.

I hate to spend the extra money, but I think I'll get the 295, as
Aviation is main reason I purchased a GPS in the first place.
