Close. 1320 lb. (600Kg x 2.2 lb/Kg)

why did germans switch to the wooden blades on Focke Wulf Fw 190 A-8???
surely not to save the weight?

The British used wooden blades on their Spitfires an Hurricanes, also.

Wood is a good material (a naturally-occurring composite) and is easy to
fabricate. In addition, it will shatter when it strikes solid objects
(such as the ground in a gear-up) and will not damage engine components
when it does.
