That is a seriously sun-damaged paint job.

Or is it the photograph itself? The trees in the background seem a
reasonable colour.

The brickwork and the Orange and Green of the Celtic Boss seem OK, as do
the yellow tips on the prop. What colour did you think the aircraft
was meant to be?

Oh! I forgot to mention those strange, very un-Spitfire-like wheel hubs.
I wonder where they came from?

That's the colour the Irish Air Corps used. The aircraft was restored a
few years ago and flew in that scheme for a while. AFAIK it's now back
in RAF camouflage. Can't look it up right now as we're late for our
eldest granddaughter's 8th birthday party.

I think the building is the Schiphol replica terminal at the Aviodrome
in Lelystad.

That is correct. It carries a squadron code of IQV for 19 Squadron,
which was based at RAF Duxford during the Battle of Britain. Here's a
picture of it and a Merlin engined chum at Weston-super-Mare earlier
this year.

PS: It is described as Mk TR9.

It was the colours of the roundel which caught my eye. They should be green
and orange but appear in the photograph as blue with a touch of green and
yellow with a touch of orange.

Have a look at this post-restoration photo of the same aircraft in 2005:

http://www.airpixbycaz.co.uk/cazsite.../part01/spit01
3.html

Or, if the wrap is a problem, try:

http://tinyurl.com/8mbanbx

Compare and contrast this with the picture Joseph posted. Admittedly, the
sun seems a little weaker in the 2005 picture but it's in essentially the
same position relative to the aircraft. Even allowing for differences in the
light and the inevitable technical variations in producing the jpegs, it
still looks to me like a seriously sun-damaged paint job.
