Question about a Janus C and Duo Discus
I just read the description of the new Duo-Discus "X", and they made a point to mention the landing gear controls are now operable from the back seat. Having flown a Duo only a couple of times, and from the front seat only, I never noticed they weren't available in back. Is the landing gear retraction mechanism of the Janus C operable from the back seat? The A and B models are obviously not a problem because they are fixed gear. How about the Nimbus "D" models? The Nimbus 3D does not have the gear handle in the back seat.

The landing gear of the Janus Ce (e = Einziehfahrwerk, retractable
gear) can only be operated from the front cockpit. It can be somewhat heavy to operate so when flying with a passenger in the front seat it is best to leave the gear (and radio) alone. Olfert. |
