Just a heads up for any pilots heading to the US Sports Class
Nationals in southern Utah next week. The upcoming weekend weather looks likely to be pretty showery with a good chance of thunderstorms over the mountains - not usually a good sign for great soaring from Parowan. The good news is that the weather will clear up from Monday onwards and the long-range forecast for the whole contest looks mostly dry. We should have a mix of nice mountain cumulus interspersed with a few blue days. Maximum temperatures will increase from the 70's (20's C) this weekend into the low 90's (30's C) later in the week. I plan to arrive Sunday and will set up my contest weather station and webcam that will be uploaded to a public website. Mike the Strike (Weather Guy) P.S. Bring your own beer unless you want to pay a premium at the State Liquor Store. |
