Default A bit of Turshish Tail in Seattle - IMG_0318.JPG (3/6)

Mr. Bill:

With all due deferance and respect, could you please tell me
what the following means? Are you a spy trying to pass off
some secret information to another? Perhaps it is a math
equation that needs hundreds of computers needed to formu-
late an answer to a single question.

Sir, I am not a rocket scientist, nor am I a great mathematician,
nor am I a a science teacher. I never was any good at math in
school, but there is one thing that I know. A self centered
sanctimonious blaggart. Hooray for you, sir! You have
found another way to start a war (of words, I hope) between
all of us who really like photos of aircraft, young and old.

I myself come from a family of, how should I say this,
aircraft mechanics, technicians and innovative engineers. the
only thing left to say at this time is get your freaking
junk out of here

Thank you for your patience

Jacques

Jaques,
I think that you have gone off half-cocked about this post.
See the last part of the original posts title? It says (3/6)
That means that it is part 3 of 6 parts.
Therefore you will need to select it and all other parts of the message to see
the picture.
In Outlook Express I select part 1 of the multi-part post then whilst holding
down the CTRL key I select the other parts of the message with the mouse.
Once all parts are selected, right click on any of the selected files and choose
"Combine & Decode".
OE will automagically get the posts in correct order (most of the time) and
download + decode them.
This will reult in the correct picture being displayed and not all this
gobbledygook.
I cannot give instruction on the use of Thunderbird as I don't use it, however I
dare say that RTFM is in order on your part to figure out how your newsgroup
client does the same job.

Apparently you aren't very familiar with how news readers/groups deal
with very large files.

I am, and could easily take the steps to combine the multi part posts. But
I won't.

Who needs to see a picture of an airplane in such detail that it could be
blown up into a poster sized picture. Not me, or 99.99 percent of the
others reading this group.

Not many are using a HD projector as a monitor. That is the only way
anyone could appreciate a 6 part picture while reading a newsgroup.

If someone wants a particular picture in that much detail, they could write
the OP and ask for a larger file to be sent to them, and just them, back
channels.

Posting files that large shows lack of appreciation of the conventions of
this group, and in my and many other's opinion, is quite rude and in bad
form.

So I agree. Get the pics down to a reasonable size, or put your crap
somewhere else.

Apparently you aren't very familiar with how news readers/groups deal
with very large files. A program such as Agent will automatically
split a large file into several small parts which are posted
separately. You have to download all the parts which Agent
automatically assembles for you if all the parts are available on your
news service.

Since it is a 6 part message and you only have 1 part either due to
the fact that you didn't download and properly process the other 5
parts or your news service is so poor that it only posts 1 or a couple
of part(s) of a six part message for you.

Please don't post elsewhere, mr Bill. I got your pictures okay here;
perhaps we can work out why they aren't working for everyone -
sometimes posting a single image per post fixes it for less-than-adept
newsreaading software. You didn't in your post, but it's good to be
aware that even accidentally posting here with yEnc will make you
sorry you didn't put on your flame-retardant suit... ;^}

I live in Seattle, and have been having the same trouble you have
catching this critter out in the open. Only once back in 2008 it came
out for a test hop while I was hanging out at BFI.

People who come to this group for images, instead of just bitching.

Post some other place, mr Bill

Ha. Shut your ignorant, ungrateful yap, Mr. Guay.

Now - just how likely are either of those to happen?
