Out of curiosity, how good is the sunlight readability of the iPad?

At that price the PowerFlarm is looking like a bargain considering the
additional functionality.

The backup attitude display might be questionable for contesting?

In my opinion, only fair. The newer retina display may be different.

Interesting comment from a Stratus user:

Cons
Weather is not as good as nexrad
Traffic shows only a fraction of the traffic. It currently won't show Southwest Airlines aircraft and a lot more.

Do Southwest operate in stealth mode to avoid leaching?

Guess I should have read the whole advert not just the title, its more
than just an ADS-B receiver...

I posted this because the birds are walking outside my house and there's
snow and ice on the ground.

I use a Streak and it's super readable in sunlight. Never seen an iPad.

I have not seen Foreflight in the UK. Many power pilots use SkyDemon, a subscription flight planning and navigation service/software which runs on PC/iPad/iPhone/Android/WinCE and provides weather and notams within the subscription. A recent enhancement of SkyDemon has been to make it PowerFlarm compatible - so ADS-B traffic and Flarm traffic appear on the moving map. It will be interesting to see whether this encourages GA pilots to adopt PowerFlarm.

It would be nice to get satellite Wx to see the cloud patterns, like streets. Is there anyway to get this now? Smart phones tend to not work well above a few K feet AGL.
