Default Latest on the Moriarty OLC camp

The sponsors of the Moriarty OLC Camp (June 1 to 15), Sundance Aviation and Albuquerque Soaring Club, have been joined by Moriarty-based Titan Aerospace. The city's Mayor, Ted Hart, and the City Council are also generously supporting the Camp.
Our sponsors will help defray costs of such things as catered meals. One exciting item here will take place on May 31st the night before flying starts. Dinner ($15 but two complimentary tickets for entrants) will be accompanied by a private showing of the fabulous new soaring movie, Cloudstreet, which will just have had its debut on PBS. We are getting to see it thanks to the generosity of its creator Mike Abernathy.
More news on food and beer soon. Remember, unlike some places Moriarty has its own brewery: Sierra Blanca's prize-winning products will also be available - after flying of course - at the field. Or you can try them at the nearby brewery.
The soaring at Moriarty is world class. Badge length flights are routine here. If you want to tune up your speed skills this is the place to come - among the mentors on hand, catering to all experience levels, will be the leading pilots who won the OLC's world speed league for 2014, plus the US speed league.
There are still a handful of places available to enter the camp. Contact Camp Manager Bob Hudson at , or 505-507 6332.

Howard,
It looks like you guys are going to have an amazing event and time! Thanks for putting this on and for working so hard to make it as fun as possible. I sure wish I could attend and I hope you all have great weather and long flights!

Best,

Thanks Bruno!
Incidentally that handful is now barely a couple or so ... so if you change your mind you had better call quickly! We would love to have you here. Ditto anybody else thinking of coming.
After the Moriarty camp, next for me will be your camp at Nephi ... great summer's soaring ahead.

The camps I'd like to attend (Nephi and Moriarty) always seem to coincide with work.
Bugger!

What about claiming a need for specialised oxygen therapy? It's easy to get above 10,0000' MSL at Moriarty

My doctor always told me it's important to keep my feet elevated.

I've climbed directly to 17,000' off tow (in thermal) at Moriarty! More
often, I leave the airport vicinity at around 12,000' MSL.

So, the answer to your question is: Yes!

Enjoy the camp.
