This isn't "exactly" soaring related, but I know there are a lot of
engineers on this NG. I have a refrigerator in my car and I would like to wire a timer to it to kick it on at certain times. It can be battery operated or operate off of the 12V if it has a small current. I don't want it running all the time, but I would like to find a cold refreshing drink when I get to my car in the evening. Any ideas are much appreciated. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

1st you need something that controls DC, you can't modify a mains
programmable timer because the control device is incompatible with the cars 12v DC. Something like this - http://www.canfieldconnector.com/electronic_timers.htm Industrial control or home automation places may be able to help. Of course you could atttach a PDA with voice recognition to a radio in the vehicle. Calling 'Xray Xray 5 minutes out' would kick the fridge into hyperfreeze and ensure that the ale was really up to scratch! :-) Ian |
