pounced out of the underbrush: "You'll see many sailplanes with

The sentence is from a paragraph that explains altimeter lag, and how
to work around it.

The vibrator takes the place of the engine vibration and keeps the
instruments, namely the altimeter from sticking, eliminating that need
to nervously tap the thing when low and struggling.

tapping the altimeter helps keep me calm when im low. to each his own i
guess. gives me a nice beat to fly by.
