Default Interesting Crash Story

Greetings All,

Here in Washington State, we have a search going on for an airplane that
may have "went down" in the vicinity of Chinook Pass, on the eastern
boundary of Mt Rainer National Park. The airplane is a 1970 Cessna
Cardinal, Model 177B (Fixed Gear), Reg N5180J. You can see a pic of it
at the following site:

http://www.komotv.com/news/local/7650087.html

Normally I would not post anything about this type of event since it's a
local one. Also I have "no dog in this hunt". However, this story has
a strange twist to it. It appears that the pilot was due in court to
answer an "indecent liberty" charges. You can read about this at the
following sites:

I may be wrong, but something may be "fishy" here. Since all of us who
frequent this NG are from across across the US, and maybe southwest
Canada (ie: BC and Alberta), if this airplane is spotted on a ramp/strip
anywhere (public or private), please contact your local law enforcement
folks. I've been watching the CAP and our SAR folks flying their butts
off trying to find this guy. If the airplane is intact, then it can be
reported so that the search effort can be terminated.

Many TIA

The search was suspended a couple days ago. Of course, if anyone sees
George Trupp or his rented Cessna Cardinal they should contact law
enforcement authorities immediately.

The authorities are still assuming that he went down in the Cascades.
Trupp only had his pilot certificate for six months. Also on board the
plane was his dog and reportedly a two year supply of dog food.
