Sad to relate, this plane crashed and was destroyed in 1996.

Very sad indeed. I was at Duxford that day and it really was the most
horrible thing to watch. RIP Hoof

As we quietly left the curtailed display, I watched Mosquito RR299 warming
up to leave for home, little knowing that the following weekend it too would
crash at Barton, taking its crew of two with it.

What with that and watching the Fairey Firefly go in at Duxford in 2003, I
tend to breathe a sigh of relief now when everythings down safely and its
time to go home.

Regards
Paul

I've left many an airplane in flight, and I am glad to relate that
all made it back to the airfield.

Also very fortunate to have lived close to Middlesboro to watch
the rebuilding of P-38 Glacier Girl over the years.
hated to see her sold and moved . hopefuly we will get to see her
again in Texas..
a lot of great craftsmanship went into her rebuilding..
