Default M20 Air/Oil Separator

So I have been reading this thread and it seems to have gone off into a
which is hotter - more oil or less oil kind of debate.

But right now I am considering buying one of these separators, so would
like to bring it back to the original discussion.

Does it stop oil from coming out of the breather onto the belly of the
plane? Those who have bought one - knowing what you know now, if you
didn't have one, would you buy one?

Thanks for any responses

Tony
