Somebody help me out. What is the "half strut"? You have to visualize the “One & a Half strutter” as a nick name. This came about in the way the upper wing was attached to the fuselage. This was done with a pair of short (half) struts and a pair of longer struts. They formed a “W” when viewed from the front. The outboard supporting struts were not part of this eccentric nick naming. Remember this comes from the company which gave us the “Camel” because of a hump over the gun cowl. The pic below shows the struts. -- Regards, Savageduck |
