With some of the nasty tricks a Camel rotary can pull on a person,
authenticy can have its price. I'm not sure I'd want to do that even if it's no longer the real thing. P. I'm building a reproduction Curtis JN-4D and people look at me like I got things growing out of the side of my head when I tell them it will have an original OX-5 engine. They don't realize that I am an engineer and I will be modifying the engine to make it more reliable. Luke |

Even at its worst, the OX-5 wouldn't have the gyroscopic tricks in it
the Camel rotary exhibited - even more so than other rotaries with the possible exception of the DR-I (IMHO). P. On Mon, 1 Jan 2007 11:13:29 -0700, "Luke" wrote: "Papa Fox" wrote in message .. . Dealing with modifications to a cranky ingnition system and an unreliable valve train are inconseqential compared to the basic dynamic problems associated with rotary engines. When Jenny is done, it should be a realtive pussycat to fly. Luke |
