Default Pocket PC - K-Flog/Cumulus or GPS Log

I don't want to spend money for mobile navigation software for PDAs. Has
anybody experience with free software like Cumulus or GPS Log?

Which one is better? Is it difficult or rather profitable to install
Linux and Cumulus on an IPAQ?

Thx for any comment,
Andreas
