Default Going to Gatlinburg TN

Flyers,

I am flying from N14 to Gatlinburg, TN (KGKT) in mid-April for an
anniversary trip with my wife. My wife HATES turbulence and asked me to do
everything in my power to mitigate it's effects on our flight.

My first thoughts are to fly:

1) in the early morning
2) on the downwind side of the mountains
3) as high as the clouds and plane will let me

Does anyone have any other thoughts on this? I would appreciate any advice
from pilots who know the area or have flown similar routes.

BTW, nothing is carved in stone, but my flight plan might look something
like: N14 MGW WVA Direct KGKT.

I'm going to try and go VFR if possible so that I can pick the routes and
altitudes with the best chances of decreasing any turbulence.

Thanks in advance of any help.
