The car in the background looks very similar to the first car I owned as a
student in the 60's. I think I bought it for ten quid.

My brothers first car was an Austin 7 with a good reconditioned engine but a
tendancy for the half shafts to become detached from the diff, he sold it
for fiver I think.
I wish now that I had bought it from him!

Yes, mine was a two door Morris 8. I even had the maintenance manual: who
remembers the famous brands such as Sirrom and Enots?
