Thanks for these interesting shots from Trenton.

I have driven past on the 401 a number of times, but have never stopped. Is
the museum there worth visiting?

Cheers,

Indrek Aavisto

Hi Indrek! Actually, these shots were not from Trenton. These were taken in
Manitoba at a place called South Port. It is a training facility close to
Portage La Prairie. The occasion was the 17th Wing's Air Show commemorating
the centennial of powered flight in Canada and also the 50th anniversary of
D-Day. That is the "historical" side of things.

I've not been to Trenton and their museum .... YET! ;-) I would like to
visit one day and get some nice shots (hopefully).

It seems that there is going to be an air show here in May so I hope to get
a lot of new shots then. I have a few shots from today that I'm tempted to
post even though they aren't the greatest quality. I had an idea in mind for
a few snaps as the Sun was setting. I rushed over to a favorite spot and
started snapping away as the aircraft were landing. Well......much to my
surprise....a big aircraft came into view. At first I
thought....NAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! It can't be! IT IS! An Antonov! This huge
hulking monster of an aircraft lumbered across the sky and came in for a
landing. It was quite unexpected but really kind of a treat! I think I will
post a few of the images. I hope you enjoy them too!

Nick

Thanks for the reply. I guess I did not Google carefully enough. I found
some references to the Trenton air-show in 2009 that featured some of the
same formations such as the Snowbirds and the F-86 in trail.

Please do post the sunset pictures.

Cheers,

Indrek Aavisto
