Anybody know where the approved drug list can be found? For example, would
a pilot taking Methyltrexate and Folic acid for Psoriatic Arthritis have any difficulty with a 3rd class medical? Carl |

Methotrexate is more commonly (or rather, TRADITIONALLY) used to treat
Cancer and is considered Chemotherapy. It HAS, however been found to help quite a bit in autoimmune and immune-mediated disorders (such as this persons arthritis). Carl There is this: http://www.leftseat.com/medcat1.htm I don't know that it is really "official", but it shows Methyltrexate (except they called it Methotrexate) as approved for arthritis (not for cancer), providing that there are no side effects and the condition being treated is not itself disqualifying. |
