"Tests showed the prone pilot could indeed endure slightly more g, but
suffered from vertigo, couldn't see very much — particularly behind him —
and became tired quickly."

I wa aware of the rationale, but, even before reading those two pages, I
could see that a check of one's six was going to be a pain in the neck,
"As any fule kno." Another challenge would have been adapting safety
systems for bailing out.

Agreed.

I like the "As any fule kno" as it indicates your broad horizons when it
comes your literary tastes.
