Thanks for posting those, I hadn't seen them. Unfortunately, only the
first two played - Quicktime complained about missing something for the
others. Is there an explanation in English about what to do? There's
something about a Quicktime Alternative, but I don't want to click
without knowing what it will do!

Ran fine on OS X v.10.4.5/QT 7.04/Safari Took a while to load all of
them though.
Interesting way to follow races. I hope it catches on. People watch
America's cup racing on TV (OK well, I do), I thought this was better
and still has loads of potential for improvement.

You have 7 small additional videos in the webpage that was sent... some pretty
cool ones actually.

Only the first two clips are on the official site. The rest are taken
by a camcorder pointed at either the big outdoors screen or else a
smaller TV in the terminal building, or else are in-flight (and
unofficial, by the looks) footage from Sebastian Kawa's glider.

Everything plays fine on my Mac using Tiger, Safari and QuickTime. Are
the people having problems using Windows?

Using Windows, I downloaded the file to a temp folder and then played it
on Media Player. No problem. This procedure was used because the URL
didn't open and play directly.

I have seen the 7 minute promo DVD produced using footage
from the 06 GP. It's very good - spectaular air-to-air
shots together with graphics, interviews and in-cockpit
shots.

Hopefully he gets the funding to make a 1 hour production.

Peter I agree.

Potential purchasers should also be aware that this
is not a true DVD
but a DVD-R produced on demand. Hence if you have
a Sony so called DVD
+ or - R/RW compatible DVD player model DVP-NS725P
this DVD cannot be
played.

Let's hope that Peter Newport's efforts a few weeks
ago at Omarama
proves to be a better production. The small videoclips
on the website
look good with a wealth of information that is pilot
oriented.

Concerning the DVD of the 2005 Saint-Auban World Grand

I have seen the 2005 Saint-Auban World Grand Prix
DVD and I was NOT
impressed. It had no real content. It was essentially
a 1 minute TV
news article stretched to 40 minutes.

We need to start producing DVDs which show race analysis:-
* complete tasks
* briefings of weather and terrain
* pre-race tactic discussions
* pilot and expert commentries hilighting mistakes
and good decisions
* loads of incockpit and helicopter video
* all IGC files and an IGC player (eg SeeYou)

the user should be able to play each day task with
the IGCs in one
window and see a sychronised DVD film in a 2nd window.
And then easily
play the whole lot back and forward. This will make
it interesting for
both the racer (analysis) and the layman (visual fest)
and everyone
inbetween.

The DVD should have
