" Look at about the 1:30 mark where the pax are deplaning into the boat. -- Dan C-172RG at BFM |

Yeah, I looked, BFD. What's really strange is why the CJ powers up
again in the water! Anybody know the story here? -- If you ever catch on fire, try to avoid looking in a mirror, because I bet that will really throw you into a panic. - Jack Handey |

Many people believe that the pilot went back in (he appears to) and tried to "drive" the plane out of the water. Others believed it was an electrical issue that caused the engine to spin up. Either way, its a sad way for a cool airplane to get junked. -Robert |

My son worked at Cessna and for a Cessna dealer. More than
one Citation has started itself in the hanger while unattended. "Robert M. Gary" wrote in message ups.com... | On Mar 19, 8:06 am, Bob Fry wrote: | Yeah, I looked, BFD. My guess is that when the water rose up into the combustor, there was a
bunch of steam generated that got the turbines to start spinning again. The FAA established the ignitors were on so assuming the fuel was as well, the engine "lit up". People have said the ignitors were on, and the throttle lever was screwed up, and somehow it fired back up again. No idea how that works. Then Citations have had some bad starter relays, salt water
doesn't help. The power lever was not in cutoff, so it fired up. It stopped [my guess] when it ran out of fuel [possible reason the pilot landed a jet on an airport closed to jets and downwind at that]. "Bob Fry" wrote in message ... | Yeah, I looked, BFD. Nothing says he had enough fuel to start with, perhaps he
had to cruise lower than flight planned for fuel and ran low, maybe the wind changed. But a running jet rarely quits except for running out of fuel.
