?!?! A chinese AWACS based on a B-29 clone... that's new... "It's only a model..." (this photo, anyway) The Chinese used their re-engined Tu-4's well into the seventies, perhaps beyond. This AEW aircraft was reportedly named KJ-1, and was tested between 1967 and 1971. It was apparently found wanting, and the project was terminated. The aircraft is on display with another modified Tu-4 at the China Aviation Museum (Datangshan) outside Beijing.
