This IIRC was the last time a Vulcan was at an airshow in South Australia - although they previously operated out of the base for many years on weapons trials. The eucalypt trees in the background - more or less - make it in Australia. The layout - with the public parking so close to the ramp and the HF antennae and sat dish are similar to the ones that Edinburgh had at that time. I was 12 when I went to that airshow and it fits in with what I remember - as does the atypical for April, low cloud cover, which restricted the EE Lightnings to do their low-level routine. It could also be RAAF Richmond, which had a visit at the same time, but I'd like to think it was Edinburgh. -- Cheers Dave Kearton |
