Wow, and I was complaning today when I had to pay $2.65 per gallon.

Yeah, it's pretty high here in the Northwest. Our auto gas is above the
national average too.

Mine just hit $2 for 87 octane. Still well over a buck cheaper than
avgas-and it runs better and cleaner, too.

I'm so happy I have the Autogas STC. I'm getting 8 gal/hr burn at
$2.85/gal.

Me, too. But I'm paying just $1.95 per gallon here!

(Of course, I'm burning 14 - 15 gallons per hour...)

You're paying $2.85 for mogas? I'm paying $2.75 for avgas.

Come over to Europe. 100LL price in France recently jumped to around
1.35 euros/litre. Which is roughly $6.20/gallon.

Is that including VAT? Sounds slightly cheaper than here in the UK.
I think I last paid 96p a litre. Might have gone up now with the latest
increases in car petrol.

Our field just went to $2.34 on weekdays. We have consistantly been the
cheapest fuel around. The city and the advisory board (which I was
chairman years ago) decided to go on volumn rather than margin. After
the 24 hours credit card reader was installed our sales really went up.
I think we are pumping more in a month that we did in a year. We are
looking at getting a larger tank, because we cannot take a full tank
truck and that costs extra.

Speaking of fuel prices, I was just checking Airnav to see what kinds of
savings I might get if I bought fuel off my own airport. It may not make
sense economically, but prices are getting high enough that I'm just plain
offended at wide disparities.

I found a few airports with significantly lower prices than that found at
Paine Field (KPAE). One is Oak Harbor, where the fuel is even 25 cents less
expensive than other neighboring "cheap" fuel locations. $2.55/gal for
100LL at the last reported time.

Anyone know any caveats about buying fuel there? Is it cheap just because
they want to attract the business? Or is there something "wrong" with it?

For the record, other relatively cheap fuel in the Puget Sound area appears
to be Thun Field in Puyallup (I can confirm, having just bought fuel there a
couple of weeks ago), Tacoma Narrows in Gig Harbor, and Jefferson County in
Port Townsend. They're all selling 100LL for under $3.00/gal.

I'm not surprised. I very often bend my course to land at a little
airport at the northwest end of Lake Winnipesaukee that has a
credit-card pump. It's nice to know positively that the "gas jocky"
will always be on duty. (And I don't fly at night!)

Sometime over the last week, our FBO at Syracuse, NY, quietly raised

100LL
fuel prices again. It is now $3.88 per gallon, which I believe has
surpassed the fuel prices at Signature of Boston's Logan Airport.

I just had to vent.

At our English airfield Avgas is $1,75 /litre, $7,00 / gall
