H201b Standard Libelle for low time pilot

I am a low time pilot working to get my private rating. I have the
opportunitty to buy an H201b Standard Libelle:

1) Is this glider suitable / safe for a beginner like me?

2) How many total hours does a glider like this have of useful life?

IMHO a qualified yes. Air brakes are a little on the ineffective side at
anything above 50 kts. Provided you fly from a larger field ( than the
average UK poststamp ) it's a honey of an aircraft.

life - 6000 hours at least, 12000 after an inspection.

Look out for 201's with balsa cored wings - they tended to get a rot
problem.
