But violet giving willingly is OK?

I gave my lab partner in college one of those radio shack wheely things
because he could never remember the color code.

The girls can flirt and other queer things can do.

LOL! I was a lowly teaching assistant and had a lab section (Electrical
Engineering). On one occasion, the lab handout provided the color codes
with numeric values. The handout then said something like "your instructor
will provide an easy way to recall the sequence/values".

Well, of course, at least half the students already knew the bawdy version
and kept asking me to recite it especially since there was a significant
co-ed contingent.

And, Ron, you probably recall that there is a different version for VGW that
"explained" the "ROYG". :-)

The version I was taught back in high school was G-rated, presented as referring
to horses:

Works great. If you don't like the little marker tapes you can always use
Jim's option and put the number on with colored markers using resistor

color

codes. Black Brown Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Violet Gray White

Highflyer

Here is an acronym to help me, sinner that I am, remember the seven
deadlies: PEGGLA.

Bad boys rape our young girls but violet gives willingly.

Bad beer ruins our young guts but vodka does well.

The white teflon wire is excellent for aircraft because it does not melt

And as a result doesn't give off noxious fumes when exposed to extreme
temperature.
