This stuff happens all the time there but just doesn't get the press cause they're not broadcasting the comss on VHF. A big clue is when the fire department shuts down the roads along the airport runway and starts staging their equipment for rapid deployment. Although, the ATC chatter was truly fascinating. I heard the tower reporting that the problem hadn't been fixed, at one point the pilot said "it didn't work, we need to try something different", heard him cleared for another flyby and, later, 'We're bringing the engine back up.' (Self: "Engine?!") Followed by "Looks good. You're clear for the visual approach at your discretion." -c |

What is the motive behind CNN's coverage of aviation incidents? It's almost like they are deliberately trying to give aviation a black eye at every possible opportunity. Atleast they didn't put a black X over the plane like they did Cheney! ----------------------------------- DW |

You would think that with half the planet wearing his shoes that Phil Knight
would not have to stoop to buying a "used" jet. Probably for availability reasons (not wanting to wait for delivery). Maybe the one that Phill actually uses was bought NEW and this one was for his subordinates, after all he wasn't on this particular flight. |
