There you go, again!
What is it with you and Ohio? It's always the brunt of your jokes!
Is it some West Coast joke that us interior folks haven't heard?
Inquiring Buckeyes want to know?

Well, let me know if you're coming. I'm helping to cover the airshow in
Milwaukee, with the Thunderbirds as well as the Golden Knights. Regardless,
the fridge is still full of beer.

That's OK. Germans originally settled Cincinnati and started lots of
breweries. Cincy brew is pretty good. (grew up in Ohio, went to school in
Cincy and now a West Coast transplant at KLVK).

The Cincinnati beers of our youth are no more.
Wiedeman gone.
Heudapohl gone.

There is nothing more refreshing after a really hot day of work, than
pounding down an 8 pack of Shaelings' Little Kings, right? g

Default Camping on Madeline Island

I vacationed there last year and took the ferry to town then did the
cruise around the Apostle islands and thoroughly enjoyed. I also liked
the museum on the island.
I was surprised by the number of woodpeckers. They outnumbered all the
other birds put together by about 3-1.

So, tomorrow morning, at 0-dark-thirty, my 15-year-old son and I are
blasting off for "Up North" -- in this case, Madeline Island, just
off-shore in Lake Superior. Atlas is loaded to the gunwales with
bikes, tents, coolers, food -- you name it. We've got two days.

Mary and I went there a couple of years ago, and had a very nice time.
We had no transportation, however, so we only saw the main city
(LaPointe), and not much else.

This time, Joe and I have packed our mountain bikes, and are planning
to see the whole island. I've verified that camping is allowed on the
airport, and the weather looks good, thus far.

Anyone camped on Madeline Island? Any "must sees" or "must dos"?

Thanks!

I don't think I would want to go there. Just a bunch of peckerheads
everywhere! g
