I am considering purchase of std.cirrus but I am little heavy (240
lbs.) Any heavy std.cirrus owners-pilots here?
I would be happy for any comments.
Thank you
Mojmir

One of the most effective, and most difficult options, is to eat only
green-and-yellow vegetables and small portions of lean protein for a
very, very long time, and to quit eating "real" meals and make meals
into snacks.

This reliably causes abatement of the Creeping Largess Syndrome that
seems to be taking over the Western World, and causes gravity to be
less influential on one's person.

I used this method to stay under MGW in my own glider (yes, I weighed
the glider with myself in it, fully rigged, and was over).

Too much largess and you will never be able to afford any glider. Or did
you unean "largness"?

Yes, some of us are just attracted more strongly towards the center of the
earth than others. Seriously; I have weighed 100# more than I do today, so I
guess I am qualified to talk a bit on this subject.

One of the most motivating things that ever happened to me was when I got
the bug to fly gliders, but learned that 240# was a bit marginal for the front
(or only) seat of many gliders.

What to do? Talk to your doctor. If cholesterol is an issue, stick to a low
fat diet. If blood sugar is an issue try one of the low carb diets. Either one
of these will eventually get you to the weight where you want to be and keep you
there. The end result will get you in the pilot's seat, but far more
importantly it will keep you alive for many years of good flying.

Same weight. 186cm

I fit, (only just) and the Std Cirrus is a very nice mistress.

The forward CG improves the low speed handling.

Thanks guys,
I just paid for the glider and I think it is great glider for the
price. And std.cirrus is only one I can fit ,,comfortably,,
I am 192 cm ( 6`5) and I am not fat.Doctor during my medical said you
are healthy and you have extremly strong build,
you should play ice hockey and not fly gliders. I was just wondering
if heavy guys put some lead in the tail or just thermalling
way faster with std.cirruses.

Mojmir,
If you haven't already joined the Std Cirrus Yahoo group, it has
300+ members and is very active. You'll get instant answers to any
question. I weigh 230 and my Std. Cirrus handled fine.
