........... in new clothes ?

Managed this snatch shot of a B.17 over Suffolk today, wearing the "J" of a
390th BG.

The 390th was based at Parham, about 20 miles from here.

Is it Sally B or ................. ?

Yes it was, holding at Duxford for their show Saturday and Sunday. Others
listed as available a

B-17G-85 Flying Fortress 44-8846 – Association Fortresse Toujours Volant en
France
B-17G-105 Flying Fortress 44-85734 – The Liberty Foundation
B-17G-105 Flying Fortress 44-85784 – B-17 Preservation

Sally B has had only three engines for the last week or so, so unless there
is a concerted push, will not be displaying this weekend.
Lots of activity this week in between the rain, hoping for a good weekend (I
live in Duxford village).

Thanx for the added info, Tony. Lucky you living in the village. I haven't
been to the airfield since 1996 and then, fortunately, with a free pass g.
For health reasons I'm not able to travel much these days, so that brief
glimpse of Liberty Belle yesterday will probably be my aviation highlight of
the year here in N. Suffolk.

Cheers,

With any luck she was practising for an appearance at Lowestoft (24/25)
July - if so, she might pop overhead again on those days.

Thanx for that, Dave, I will have to see if I have enough 'get up and go' to
get over there after my lumbar puncture tomorrow :-((

Thanx, ®i©ardo, the lumbar puncture went A-OK. No pain whatsoever. And
thanks a bundle for the Miles Falcon photo. A very nice thought and very
much appreciated.

Pink Lady - I believe this is the only airworthy WWII combat veteran B-17 in
the world.

France
