Forgive the poor quality of this foto A better photographer than I am,
armed with a tri-pod and a better camera would be necessary to do a good job on these. I carried a mono-pod and an inexpensive digital. I wanted to show you the vast and complete collection of these models. I understand they are preserved in a nitrogen atmosphere. I had some of these and watched helplessly as they deteriorated with age.. -- William M. (Bill) Brown seneo-pro |

I thank you for posting these pictures. I wanted to show you the vast and complete collection of these models. We are currently thinking of going to DC, probably about 2 weeks, possibly next April or so. Thanks for more inspiration. I understand they are preserved in a nitrogen atmosphere. I had some of these and watched helplessly as they deteriorated with age.. Really? I did not know that was much of a problem. I've some plastic models from 45 years back, kind'a seem ok still to me. ?? |

Do not neglect the new NASM out near Dulles Airport/Manassas and the new National Museum of the Marine Corps just south of D.C at Quantico. I served in the Marines and will be posting pictures from both places 'eventually' I am currently fixing them and Cool, thanks for more ideas and inspiration! I was also USMC, we need to look more into months, dates, schedule for the 8th & I 'Twilight Parade' or other such! I understand they are preserved in a nitrogen atmosphere. (Bill) Brown Sure, that makes real sense (gee, 1st generation plastic, suppose lots more research and improvement helped!) |
