![]() If you have Costello Insurance, they will tell you that passengers do not touch the controls. Any accident with a passenger that touched the controls may void your insurance whether or not it was caused by the passenger. Beware! How is "passenger" defined in this context? If I give a ride, and the person receiving the ride handles the controls, then that person is receiving instruction and is a student pilot not a passenger. |

That's all well and good if you happen to hold a CFIG certificate. Many clubs don't have enough instructors to handle both instruction and rides. |

I think the wiki idea is a great idea.
Currently the only thing we have for learning from accidents other than the typical useless NTSB report is this forum and occasional magazine article. Ramy |

Ramy Certainly more information and knowledge will - for the thoughtful - be good, but don't underestimate the value of "simple self-protective curiosity" when it comes to gleaning potentially useful information from (e.g.) NTSB reports and magazine articles! :-) Bob - curiosity killed the cat; satisfaction brought it back - W. |
