Default CAI 302 volume control problem - have others tried this?

Hello.

I have a CAI 302 with a problem. During a flight yesterday it turned the volume to max by itself - and there is no way to turn it down again.

It had the problem 1 year ago also. I send it to repair, but when it got to the repair shop the problem had gone away, so nothing was fixed. I do not want to do this all the time, so I hope someone can give a precise description of what needs to be fixed.

Best regards Mads Lykke, Denmark.

Do you have any other device linked to your 302 like a Ipaq with soaring software or a Oudie? I can control my 302 volume level with my seeyou mobile.
Thinking you may a device hooked to it that is causing the full volume issue.

Hello Nick.

Thanks for your answer, and a good possibility. I have an Ipaq connected to the CAI 302, but when the volume turned up I actually also tried to control it from the Ipaq. So it does not seem to be the problem. Also, I have tried removing the Ipaq, and I still cannot control the volume on the CAI 302.

So it looks like it is something internally in the CAI 302.

Best regards Mads

Here is a email for Gary Kammer who I believe is servicing 302's. He was with CAI for a long time. He may be able to help.
