Any chance you are running Top Hat on a Kobo mini? Please share
your experiences.

Have set up a Kobo Mini system with a hockey puck GPS (GlobalSat 353-S4) running TopHat to go in a SF27 we`re refurbishing. First impressions are VERY good and the screen readability is excellent.Strong sunlight is no problem at all. Very impressed. Makes everything else look very substandard.

I have run Top Hat with a mini Kobo for two years without any problems at all. My first set up used a hockey puck GPS and external 5v power coming from the 12v on-board power and a voltage reducer and a y-cable. This worked very well.

My current set-up uses the NMEA signals from a power flarm via a DB9 connector and serialUSB converter cable (obtained from someone in Spain for about 50 Euros). This cable also provides 5v power to the mini Kobo. This set-up also works perfectly and has cleaned up the situation behind the panel somewhat.

My mini Kobo has never seized up or done anything unexpectedly (this is reserved for the pilot) -

I'm very happy with Top Hat and the mini Kobo. Also, Rob Dunning gives great support for the TH.
