So why are turbo insurance rates cheaper?

I don't think it makes any difference if you hit a power line with a pure glider, or a turbo, or a self launch. You are still in a world of trouble at that point.

Of course it makes. If he hit the power lines while trying to start the engine or as a result of the engine not starting than it made all the difference in the world. I am not saying this was the case, just that it could be the case. Additional workload at a critical time is a receipt for tunnel vision.

Ramy From looking at the flight log carefully, and seeing it depicted in 3D,it is clear he was trying to be as low as he could over the last obstacles before a difficult field and missed seeing the wires. I do not think the turbo had any affect, other than not starting as he had hoped shortly before. UH |

Perhaps left decisions to the last moment? |

When will the flight trace be shared? Or is it available?
I know that some have already seen it. Sean 7T |

While I sorta remember the pilot, I have family that really does. Hope the best for Wharton, speedy recovery, good luck in the future, whatever it brings..... |

I.M.H.O.,compared to a typical auto extrication a sailplane would be akin to peeling a hard boiled egg. God bless and a speedy recovery. Shk Driver & former aircraft rescue firefighter |
