I once had to put out a controller for some airlift operation in the delta and was out of portable towers...gave a 19 year old kid (who was all by himself) a PRC-25 radio, had him stand in the middle of the field and control the comings and goings...he loved it...arranged for the cavalry to give him meals and something to sleep on at night...and that was it! Don't know what they do nowadays... *
