Before I started flying floatplanes, I imagined that there would be
"landing lanes" or some such place on the lake where floatplane
landing is permitted and expected. This is not the case. Floatplanes
just pick out a clear landing spot, and land in it. Same thing for
takeoff. If it is crowded, then they have to land fairly near boats.
It sounds chaotic and hazardous, but there are actually very few
seaplane/boat accidents. If you see a seaplane trying to land, just
use common sense and try to accomodate it. That is what he is doing
for you as well. I always try and land well clear of any boats, but
occasionally the bay is full of boats and I have to land fairly near
one, in which case I try and land in such a way that the pilot of the
boat is aware of me. Just be aware and steer as clear as you can, the
Seaplane will do the same.

No, I don't have a floatplane, but I have a kit Moose on order so I hope

to
have a floatplane in two years! What kind of float plane is buzzing
sailboats?

I'm not sure what kind of plane it is and I'm just kidding about it buzzing
sailboats. But if you ask my wife she thinks that it is going to crash into
us each time it makes a water landing!

I was wondering about Bird Nr 2 ID19 airstrip, do you know anything about
it? Like who owns it.

I have a house on Bottle Bay Road near Sandpoint and I have never seen

a
really large Golden in the area.

Are you the guy with the float plane that buzzes the sailboats? ;-)

I sail out of Bayview, Hudson Bay resort.

Well she is not really big, her father is the large one, lives up on

Rapid
Lightning Road, name is Herb.

The key to cleaning sheepskin is not to let it get dirty in

the
first
place
:-). Didn't I send a picture of the airplane with Yukon in

front?

Yukon being the canine, I presume? :-)

That is one AWESOME dog, Mike! What's he/she weigh?

(BTW: Is it okay for me to post your pix to our website?)
