On another thread, I learned that Merlyn tries to keep track of new
owners of aircraft on which their product is installed (Merlyn Automatic Wastegate, in this case) so they can send out any service bulletins or ADs on the device, if they should be issued. This raises a question in my mind. Should I go through my airplane, piece by piece, contacting the manufacturers for the latest updates and registering myself as the owner of their equipment? That seems like a lot of work tracking that all down. What do you folks out there do? Is there some subset to do this for that is more important that others? Can't they track ownership through the FAA registration process? -Sami N2057M, Piper Turbo Arrow III |
