However, his conclusion above silently assumes that those paying for the war, reconstruction, etc. are the same as those accruing the benefit from the aforementioned contracts. This need not be the case. The war etc. is funded by taxpayers; the contracts reward shareholders of specific companies. A pure capitalist among the shareholder population would be perfectly happy with this arrangement. - Andrew |
