New Oshkosh Tower
From EAA:
Wittman Getting New Control Tower Funding for a new $4 million air traffic control tower at Wittman Regional Airport (OSH), home of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, was approved this week by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle. The new tower will be about 85 feet tall (vision height), or 20 feet taller than the existing 40-year-old tower. Its location will be about 700 feet west of the current structure, at the northwest intersection of Knapp and Waukau streets. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2004, with completion no later than July 15, 2005. -- This new tower will supposedly displace some of the Fly Market at Airventure. Wonder where they'll move it to? Just won't feel like Oshkosh without that grand old brick tower... -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |
