Robert L Scott who wrote "God is my co-pilot" was the Base Commander where I was stationed. One night at the club a drunken Ace from WWII cornered him and gave him a hard time about writing the book and what it contained. Scott's reply was: quote "I can sit down right now and write a check for $100,000, can you?" End of quote and end of discussion.
