A while back I looked at the specs on the Garmin web site, and while the 195 definitely does NOT store the altitude, it appears that the 295 *might*. I don't remember what it said about the 196, but I think it was the same as the 295. The 196 DOES store altitude in the track. You can view the track on the map. If you select the track, you can then select: view | profile and see the altitude profile for the track. You can also look in the log table. It's all in the user's manual which can be downloaded from Garmin's web site. Gerry |
